Eternal Comforter

The devil is called the accuser of the brethren. He would love nothing more than for you to remember and to dwell on all your past sins, not so that you will repent of them, but so that you will despair of ever having God’s forgiveness.

But Jesus promised an Advocate, a Helper, a Comforter who will be with you forever. This Comforter is the Holy Spirit who makes your defense for you, who gives you peace by reminding you that God is faithful and just to forgive your sins, and who helps you understand the gifts of grace freely given you by God.

Don’t play the devil’s game by morbidly dwelling on your sin. If you have repented, then hear the eternal comforter’s reminder that you are forgiven for Christ’s sake!
