Indispensable Unity

In Ephesians we’re told to make every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Unity with one another, like-mindedness and mutual love, isn’t some pie in the sky ideal that we can expect only in heaven. It is a command for now. This unity is indispensable to the life of the church. It’s important that you love one another, that you share your lives with one another, that you visit with each other and show hospitality.

That unity begins here, as we worship each week and end up here at the Lord’s Table, sharing the bread that represents the one body of Christ, being knit together in love by the power of the Holy Spirit. What you do here in this service sets the pattern for what you do daily in your homes and with your fellow saints.
