KC Podcast - Episode 117: Passing the Baton

Still Alive

Wait? What? I have a blog?

Yes, I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything. To be fair though, I have a good excuse. My two sons both have birthdays in the last week of August/first week of September, my wife and I have our anniversary the first week of September, and, being a teacher, my first week of classes is also the first week of September. So things have been pretty exciting around here lately. As soon as the school year settles in and I get into a groove, I’ve got some more book reviews to write, and I might finally even get back to that devotional walk through Dante that I started before Pentecost and never finished.

In the meantime, here are a few things that happened in the last couple of weeks.

There were crickets:

My daughter loves bugs and will pick up any bug she can get her hands on. This cricket became the object of her affection one day and became our pet for the night.

There was a zoo:

The two older kids certainly enjoyed a little trip to the zoo, but our 2 year old absolutely loved it. Especially the birds. Especially those.

There were birthdays:

Our oldest son is currently really into cowboys and our younger son is really into trains. (We visited a train museum earlier this summer and it was the highlight of his two years under the sun.)

There was an anniversary:

These are the anniversary gifts we got for one another. If there is any doubt in your mind that there's such a thing as a marriage made in heaven, then you've never met two people who love one another and love words and old books.

And in other news: After last Wednesday, it looks like I might not have to feel ashamed to be a Cowboys fan this year.

All right, folks. That's all for now. Something more substantial will be forthcoming soon. Just wanted to let people know I hadn't died yet.

YAY!!!!! Remember, Rick, it's your job to write blogs & keep your mum entertained. Now if we could just get your sister & dad to understand this I would have so much entertainment! Lol! Love ya buddy.

crickets are evil, but Thomas the Train is pretty cool.
