KC Podcast - Episode 117: Passing the Baton

The Proper Use of "Epic"

So many words in our culture have become neutered by overuse. "Epic" for instance used to be reserved for things that were truly great. The anger of Achilles, the journey of Odysseus, the travels of Aeneas: these things were epic. We really don't have a standard of comparison these days for when to call something epic. This is why I intend to give a standard in this post for the use of the word epic. If your particular situation is not as awe-inspiring and amazing as this, it does not deserve to be called epic. So here we go:

While I was weed-eating the back yard this afternoon, I had my headphones in and was cranking this song:

It was EPIC.

Epic indeed. By the way, by blogfeed tells me you've written a review of the BBC Hounds of Baskerville. But it's not there!!! :(

I would argue that the Power Rangers theme is more epic. (Despite the utter silliness of the show.)

Rick,

The review for 'The Hounds of Baskerville' is up. There was a glitch in the blog that caused the error. Please click here to read my review.

Tomorrow, I will be posting my review for 'The Reichenbach Fall'.
