Now That's Dedication!

I giggle immaturely at things I read in books. For example, in "The Life of St. Louis" by Simon de Joinville, Louis refuses to desert his people on the battlefield despite his dysentery and "It so happened that...it became necessary to cut away the lower part of his drawers." (So juvenile of me, I know.)
